Responsibilities:
• Coordinating the day-to-day duties of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork and wrap-up;
• Oversee multiple engagements and is responsible for resolving all legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during the audit engagement;
• Being accountable to the engagement manager for the day-to-day audit work and ensuring that all field work is on schedule and completed as planned;
• Supervise and manage services to our clients, which include preparation of audit strategy and business plans, scheduling audits, and financial statement preparation;
• Develop and maintain client relationships, thus driving clients’ satisfaction;
• Research, understand and apply complex accounting (GAAP) concepts and auditing procedures (GAAS);
• Acting as client contact for basic questions and information; communicating financial statement disclosure requirements to clients.
Qualifications:
• Senior Accountant Position – Minimum 2 years experience in public accounting in a variety of industries including non-profit;
• Staff Accountant Position – Must be able to sit for CPA exam, no industry experience required;
• BS/BA degree, accounting preferred;
• Licensed CPA or CPA candidate;
• Proven experience in real estate partnerships and the affordable housing industry is desirable;
• Demonstrated leadership/supervisor experience;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Strong desire to continuously learn.
